Embrace

Layers of Discovery: An Inner Excavation
Embrace was a painting unlike any I’d created before. Beneath its surface it consists of layers and layers of unfinished paintings—a true “archeological dig” where each brushstroke uncovered remnants of earlier ideas. This work came after I had concluded my explorations in ceramics and studies on human dynamics, yet there was still something unspoken, lingering within. The process of creating Embrace felt like an inner excavation, slowly revealing forms and symbols beyond my conscious intent. At the time, I was diving into the writings of Helena Blavatsky, and her exploration of occult symbolism wove into my mind as I painted, quietly influencing what would eventually emerge on the canvas.
Symbols of Eternity and Connection
As I stepped back to contemplate the finished painting, the intertwined figures in Embrace took on the unmistakable form of the Ouroboros, the ancient symbol of cyclical renewal and infinity. These figures symbolized, unconsciously, the idea of rebirth and interconnectedness. This work coincided with a meaningful shift in my own life—the start of a lasting relationship with my current partner, one that felt deeply implanted and true. In many ways, Embrace speaks to the energy of continuity and connection, both personal and universal.
