I Am Present

Exploring Unseen Presences
I Am Present emerged from a desire to capture the intangible support that surrounds us, particularly in moments of pain and growth. This triptych was an early exploration of the feeling that unseen forces—ancestors, guides, and those who care for us deeply—are present, guiding us even when they’re not physically there. During challenging times, I felt a quiet, constant presence, a supportive network that seemed more tangible as I grew attuned to its subtle influence.
A Tapestry of Enduring Connections
As I painted I Am Present, I noticed how certain people in my life remained steadfast, their love and appreciation showing through even in the absence of expectations. This series became an expression of those precious connections—people who stay when there’s nothing to gain, offering support simply because they care. Through the images, I aimed to show how these connections, seen and unseen, weave into our identity, resonating through our thoughts, actions, and inner resilience.
Echoes That Shape Us
Ultimately, I Am Present is both an homage to these presences and a statement of resilience. Even in their absence, the guidance, love, and words of those we cherish echo within us, shaping who we are and who we become. This series captures that lingering impact, the way supportive connections live on in us, helping us navigate life's challenges and victories with a strength drawn from love that endures beyond any physical presence.
